Heprion was born out of decades of pioneering work in the research team headed by Dr. Gerold Schmitt-Ulms, a global leader in prion biology at the University of Toronto.

Recognizing both the devastating impact of prion diseases and the absence of effective therapies, our team set out to transform cutting-edge discoveries into tangible solutions for patients.

What began as fundamental research into the molecular underpinnings of prion misfolding has grown into a biotechnology company with a singular focus: to develop the world’s first curative treatment for prion diseases.
